Safety and Guidelines
Here are some guidelines to ensure that everyone using our sauna will have a good experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us on the phone: (513) 802 0371.
Please wear swim wear, underwear or loose fitting clothing in sauna (hygiene purposes).
Please sit on dry towels or sauna seat covers. (For hygiene purposes and also to prevent mildew on wood benches).
Please leave both sauna doors open for an hour after each use (to air out moisture).
Please don’t leave wet towels or other wet material in the sauna (to prevent mildew). Sauna seat covers can be hung up on pegs in the fitting room.
Avoid using softened water on rocks as it contains salt and will decrease the life of the stove and the chimney pipes.
Make sure you’re adequately hydrated before entering the sauna, to prevent dehydration.
Avoid using recreational drugs or alcohol before using sauna, as it can interfere with your body’s ability to regulate temperature and other health risks.
Start with shorter sessions, typically around 10-15 min, and gradually increase the time as your body becomes accustomed to the heat.
Personal comfort: adjust the temperature and humidity levels according to your personal comfort. It’s important to listen to your body and take breaks if needed.
Precautions: If you have any medical conditions or concerns, consult with a healthcare professional before using the sauna to ensure it’s safe for you.
Tips for a good Sauna experience
Taking a shower before entering the sauna helps to cleanse your body and open up the pores for a more effective sweat session.
Sauna hat: The hottest place in a sauna is usually the highest point. A sauna hat can help keep your head cool and increase your comfort in the sauna.
Birth twigs known as vihta can be used to give yourself a massage. By gently brushing and slapping the body, it is said to increase blood circulation, leaving the skin soft. .
Essential oils:
Start with adding 5 drops of one essential to the bucket of water. You can add up to 10 drops for a stronger scent.
Please only use oils that’s provided with the sauna rental.
Oils with high menthol concentrate like peppermint can irritate the respiratory tract.
Before using essential oils, a specialist should always be consulted, especially for people at risk like children, pregnant women and people with illnesses.
Lavender: This essential oil has a relaxing and mood lifting effect. Lavender can aid in overstimulation and restlessness. It also has a strong antiseptic effect.
Lemon: Gives a refreshing citrus scent. It stimulates circulation and increases the mood.
Eucalyptus: Excellent for opening airways.
Peppermint: Can help relieve headaches, exhaustion and fatigue.
Rosmary: Stimulates blood circulation and strengthens concentration.
Cleaning
The sauna will be thoroughly cleaned between each rental. We will wash down seats as well as floor with a non toxic cleaning solution and then rinse over with a hose. Our sauna seat covers and sauna hats will be washed between each rental. We are committed making sure our sauna is a sanitary and healthy space.
